Marian Kelner reminds us that humans, in general, feel superior to other species and this prejudice, known as speciesism, results in the suffering of animals and plants worldwide. In her talk and PowerPoint presentation, Marian Kelner will discuss how addressing and eliminating this accepted and institutionalized prejudice is a key to bringing peace and justice to the Earth and all who live within and upon her.
Kelner has advocated for the rights of animals for many years in the classroom and in everyday life. Respect for all species permeates her poetry, short stories, and essays, while her songs on two CDs explore human relationships. She is currently a Town Councilor in Greenfield and a Teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages.
This talk is part of the Roots of Peace Speaker Series and is free and open to the public.
