Friends of Reusable Bags held two successful workshops at the Winter Farmers’ Markets. Over 100 people of all ages attended! Many took bags home and 50 were donated for our many community partners. Click here for results of our most recent workshops.

2 successful events & list your garden:                                        Sixty people attended and gave Dr. Desiree L. Narago rave reviews on her talk on GARDENING FOR WILDLIFE: How To Attract Pollinators And Songbirds To Your Neighborhood. Stay tuned for video of that talk. Twenty stayed for a weekend retreat at Woolman Hill by Connor Stedman of Appleseed Permaculture on How to Design Native Habitats for People, Pollinators & the Planet. We hope to offer another design retreat next winter!        
   Add your garden to a growing list of gardens supporting pollinators in W. MA! 1,001 Pollinator Gardens  It’s fun!

During the school year, the Trout raising project continues with 5th graders, checking water chemical balance, researching all aspects of trout development and giving weekly reports on their on-going work.  Click for photos of this on-going activity.  We understand with school closed, emergency arrangements are being made to keep the fish alive.

C-PACE: Long awaited funding for energy upgrades for Commercial properties is finally flowing!  It appears likely that Greenfield may be the first community to receive funding for one of the buildings in town! We would like to thank Rep. Paul Mark, Sen. Jo Comerford, Pam Kelly, and Carole Collins, Greenfield’s Energy and Sustainability Director for their hard work to get to this outcome.
