at the ridge-top blueberry barrens and surrounding forest at the Benson Place in Heath. We will explore the low bush blueberry farm to see what is happening in the world of nature. If there is snow we will follow some animal trails and investigate their activities. We'll look for other animal signs and learn about plants along the way.
Trails are flat with occasional slopes. Dress for the weather which is often colder and windier in the hill towns. We will be in areas exposed to the northwest wind but will seek shelter out of the wind if temperatures are too low.
Bring binoculars if it is not too cold and we may need snowshoes or spikes if conditions warrant. Heavy rain or snow cancels, but we’ll let you know in advance about snow conditions.
Registration required and will open on Monday, February 19, 2018.
