The Social Dilemma

On Thursday, December 11th at 5:45pm, Greening Greenfield will showed the film “The Social Dilemma” at LAVA, 324 Main Street, Greenfield, MA.

So, what is the dilemma?  First, this part-documentary, part docu-drama digs into the world of algorithms – the ones quietly deciding what you see online, how long you stay there, and who benefits from your scrolling. Second, it nails the urgency of the conversation around regulation, digital literacy, mental health awareness – these simply aren’t optional anymore.

Following the film, we had the opportunity to discuss the pros and cons of social media use and the ever-widening use of AI in our daily lives and the fact that, within out capitalistic system, there are currently few, if any, guardrails on this advancing technology.
