Tree Planting and Invasive Clipping Work Day at Just Roots

Saturday, June 27, 2026, 9:00am to noon, Greening Greenfield and Just Roots invite everyone to help plant 30 trees and clip invasives.

“Our goal is to help increase crop production,” said Nancy Hazard, Greening Greenfield member. “We aim to improve pollination and pest control by planting trees that will attract native pollinators, moths and butterflies, and birds to the farm fields.”

Participants are asked to wear gloves, and are encouraged to bring any tools they have for cutting invasives. Shovels will be supplied, as well as an electric auger, which will be used to dig most of the holes for the 30 trees that will be planted.

People are encouraged to come early or stay late to explore a pollinator meadow being established in a dry rocky area, a pollinator “garden” with shrubs and herbaceous plants, Community gardens.
