Invasives Clipping near Poet’s Seat Dec ’24 thru Jan ’25

On 12/15/24  and again on 01/05/25 several volunteers worked on the white dot trail starting from the Poet Seat Parking lot. Emily and I had clipped some large shrubs in that area about 5 years ago, and then never returned. Recently, JohnB noticed them and started re-cutting them.  It was interesting and heartening to me to see that the large shrubs had re-sprouted but not hugely aggressively.  We were able to get to all of them. I recently learned that breaking off the new vegetation is much more effective than making a clean cut, so we broke off as much as possible. We plan to return next spring to pull the 2″-5” babies all around the  large shrubs that had been making seed.
